Work out

I had such a fun workout this morning, that I just wanted to share it and see if anyone has tried it.
Chris has introduced me to some great websites over the last few years. Gym Jones has been one of my favorites. A while back they got a good amount of notoriety for training the actors for the movie "300". A session they laid out was called the "300 work out".
I tried it this morning for the first time.

25 pull ups
50 deadlifts (135 #) I did it with 110
50 push ups
50 box jumps (24 inch height minimum)
50 floor wipers (holy cow, get ready to cry on this one)
25 chin ups (or pull ups, but I did chins)
To be completed as quick as possible, 20 minute deadline.

I did it in 18 minutes this morning, but could only bust out 40 floor wipers and fell of the hanging rack at my 23rd chin up. ;-)

If you try it, let me know what you thought.

ENJOY

Hey Marc - I did it in 26 mins, but that was by the book - using all the weights and heights specified. I was not able to do 50 consecutive reps on any of the exercises, but just paused for as little time as I could to ensure I got there in the end. It dang near killed me, but I loved it! My version also included dumbell cleans with 35lbs (25 each side) - did you do these but just forget to put them on the list?

Met,
Yes, I forgot to put the D-cleans on the list. They completely destroy me too ;-)
I can do the 50 push ups and 50 dead lifts, but I can't do the 50 floor sweepers, I rest for about 8-15 seconds when I hit 30 or 35.
Also I take a rest on the box jumps. I do 25 rest 10 secs and then another 25.
The pull ups...I can only bust out 17 in a row. Then I hang and work my way slowly to 25. I like doing chins at the end for a good bicep pump.
It's a tough one isn't it???
Thanks for stopping by my blog MET.

Did it again this morning. 25.24. It's the D-Cleans that take me the longest. I can't do any of the exercises in one take, but do get close on the deads and press-ups. Hoping to work on upper body strength a bit and improve that time. I am finding that doing it once a month is a really good way to guage general progress in all areas.

So do the floor sweepers.

I'll do the 300 for a week. (3 times) and then I'll leave it alone for the next 3 weeks.
You're right it's a great gauge
to see where you are going.

Another thing I tried that gave me tremendous delayed muscle soreness (it came a full day later)
I play a good amount of tennis,
last time I played, each time I lost a point, I did 5 push ups.
Oner 2 sets and a tiebrealer, I must have done 125 push ups.
It was fun.
Great pump.
Have a great weekend MET.
