Dinner and walking

This is so easy and so delicious, you MUST try it.

I used a 7 oz. "Ultimate Grill Steak" from Lacense Beef. Side note. thanks to Jumpow (http://www.dadrewrite.blogspot.com/), in one of the comments pointed me to another resource for grass fed beef called, Lasater Grassland Beef (http://www.lgbeef.com/). It looks to be a lot more affordable and I will try it for my next order. When you have a chance check out Jumpow's blog, make sure you check out the birthday cake his wife got him.
So I sliced the meat into nice thin strips, then in a large skillet sauted some shallots in butter. Add the meat and cook (salt & pepper optional). Watch the heat, when meat is ready remove from the pan. Turn up the heat and add a splash of red wine to the pan. Let it de-glaze a bit and next add a tablespoon of heavy cream. Cook until the cream sauce starts to thicken. Spoon over the meat. Small side salad of cherry tomatoes, with an evoo and balsamic drizzle and a few cilantro leaves.

Walking;
In line with our primal/paleo ways; I have a question for everyone. Do you walk everyday? And if so how much do you walk?

Make it a great day everyone!!

I try to walk at least 5 days a week for 45 minutes to an hour! Sometimes more :)

So let me get this straight... you don't actually grill the 7oz ultimate grilling steak? lol. Looks good as always. As for walking, I generally walk 5 days per week. 4 miles during lunch when I ride my motorcycle to work or 8 miles (4 to and 4 from) work when i walk to work.

Spunkysuzi,
Good for you. Look out for my next post on the importance of walking.

SOG;
It's not my doing!! LOL
The instructions from Lacense tell you that it's the perfect cut for stir fry or fajitas. Yet they call it ultimate grill steak. ;-)
It is very very tasty.....

I think walking is absolutely a KEY component of the primal life style. I'm dedicating a post to it.

I like walking - though it doesn't happen as much as I would like during the Boston winter. When I do get out, I usually put on my weighted vest and put at least 30lbs in the vest. It's a great time to catch up on some podcasts.

I hope to get out today though - sunny outside.

Thanks for the shout out!

Steak looks awesome- can't wait to make fajitas. Do you know of any 'primal' tortilla recipes? Like the flax kind, wuddup with that?

I rarely walk- only on weekends. I've been trying to get out of the office more often, but my job makes it kind of tough to leave my desk. I do sprint, however, and try to do so 3-5x weekly.

Gonna get outside today and walk though- you inspired me!

I try either to walk to or from work - which is about 40 minutes. I always feel better if i walk in rather than get the bus - fresher and more relaxed. It is the time alone to think which is as valuable as anything.

Weekends - especially in the summer I often end up on a longer 6-8 hour hike in the scottish hills

Jumpow,
I used to live in the North East, it is tough to get get out in the winter. Spring is on it's way.
You're welcome. Keep up the posts ;-)

Bee,
Don't know of any recipes, but...
I've heard good things about "Ezekiel sprouted bread" They make tortilla's too.
Sprinting is awesome...but walking is key also. Especially the way you hit your crossfit.....walking will help unwind your spine.
Like I said to Jumpow...spring is not far off now, nice walks in Central Park coming up ;-)

Beastie;
A good little Dutch girl ;-) We bike more then anyone...walking is good!! Good for you, keep it up!!

Chris,
One of the days I going to come visit you! It will be summer when I do though ;-)
I would love love to go on one of your hill walks. Your pictures are amazing!!
I use my walking as meditation or as music time ;-)
Sometimes Ipod some times blissful silence.
