Exercises and the wonderful world of left overs

Once again thanks to Chris , a while back I was introduced to someone I wasn't aware off. Mr. Steve Maxwell.
Take a look at his blog. The last post about the greatest exercise machine of all is a must read.
It's a nice way to put yourself through a quick evaluation. How do you stack up???
Due to flexibility issues (I'm working on them, trust me) I can't yet pull off a quality one legged pistol. I fared real well on the rest of the exercises.
My only input to his article is that you can get even better results in my opinion if you add additional weight to body exercises. Nothing like weighted dips or weighted pull ups etc.

I'll post the picture from the crock pot meal here;
Meat and sausage, couple of carrots and cantaloupe.
Like I said in the previous post, tossed it all in the crock pot the night before. So nice easy breakfast.
Here a great left over meal;
Romaine lettuce, left over crock pot meat (which I shredded/sliced for easy use.) Half an avocado with drizzle of evoo. Cantaloupe and a few blueberries.
This morning I used some of the meat together with two eggs. Again some avocado and olive oil as a side.
Have a great weekend everyone!!!!
Smile, be happy and enjoy!

I am liking the more frequent posts Marc. What is the status of the Paleo grill? I am waiting for a chain to open up in my neighborhood ;-)

The Paleo Grill is coming....trust me! Although I'm not sure New Mexico will be one of the first locations....unless of course you'd be interested in owning a franchise ;-)
Have a great weekend my man!

I am just hungry looking at your photos!!

Had me also an interesting combo today...I had made some chicken livers last night. Sauteed some chopped onion and garlic in coconut oil. To this I added chicken livers, some TJs forzen artichoke hearts and spinach, some black pepper and smoked salt. Delicious dinner.

Today I took the leftovers, put them into food processor with some more olive oil and a few hard boiled eggs. Voila, chopped liver. I ate in stuffed in some Belgian endive.

This sounds really dumb, but it never occurred to me to crockpot something overnight to have for breakfast! That's a great idea.

I have really been into chuck roast for beef stew lately, I suppose because it's cold out. Also probably because it makes such a good leftover and tastes better that way. I rarely get tired of eating it.

Your combos are interesting.

Sarena, the chopped liver sounds really good! I'm going to have to see if they have chicken livers at the farmers' market. I have to wait until the 31st though since that the first one this year.

Marc,
Could you divulge how much you spend on food weekly? This year I am single with a significantly lower budget. I wonder what is "reasonable" to spend weekly, considering that I usually pack my lunches to work, as well. I've asked a similar question of Orie ("Eat, Move, Thrive" blog) as I am curious what I should plan for. Thank you for continuing to publish your blog! Lana

Anon,
I am not going to lie, my weekly grocery bill for me and my wife is around $150-$200. If I had too though, I could easily do it well under $100. The trick for me to cut back the spending would be to cut back on some of the fancy cuts of meats and fish and add more eggs. Also buy bulk frozen berries instead of fresh or freeze dried. Drop espresso and maybe even coffee. Definitely cut out wine. Cut out fancy cheeses and yogurt.

Rachel,

Yoga ;-)
Interesting side note, when I "pay attention" I instantly become more flexible. Ask away ;-)

Sarena,
That sounds delicious!!!!
I'm going to make me some of that this week, look for the shout out!

Chris,
That was wonderful. Check your site for my comments.

Trailgr,
Thank you. I really got some of my "combo" ideas from seeing how Art Devany eats. Now I just experiment away. Try the crockpot at night. It's easy and like I said, wonderful to wake up to, especially on a cold morning.

Lana,
Thank you for continuing to visit my blog ;-) !!!!!!
Good question! It varies for me, and the time of year has something to do with it. My farmers market is here from Late Oct. until mid April. I save A LOT on grocery money during that time. My produce, cost me $40 for the week. And figure into that total that 2 days during the week, I have my 4 children to feed. When the famers market is not around I spend 3 to 4times that (just on produce). So first piece of advice, find a farmers market near you ;-) Where are you located? You've given me a good idea for a new post. I also like SOG's suggestions. He's spot on.

SOG,
GREAT suggestions for Lana and very true. I'm buying a new coffee machine, so I bought some starbucks the last few mornings, it cost me 7 bucks for 3 mornings of coffee. A pound of organic coffee at 9.99 lat me over month.
amazing when you pay attention to stuff like that.
