IF and a large meal

Feels good to be back ;-)
Like I said in the previous post, it's been busy.
When you're really busy, it's great to have IF in your bag of tricks. (I hope you've checked it out by now but if not, here's you're best starting point )
I will re-iterate the following; do not break your fast with whatever you feel like eating. It's easy to slip and fall into a large bowl of pasta or similar when you're hungry and you're in the mood to really chow down. After about a 26 hour fast, I had a good hunt and this is what I ate ;-)
(ate over a 2 hour period)

Grilled Marinated shrimp;
white wine, garlic, basil, cherry bomb pepper, onion, evoo.

Grilled chicken, feta and spinach sausage. Grilled zucchini (and some onions and peppers)

Smoked and then bbq'd, ribs.

Fresh green beans ( I know not paleo, but they looked so good at the farmers market) a nice salad and avocado.

I did not finish everything, so that made for some good leftovers for breakfast.
Have a great week everyone!!!!

SOG,
Thanks man. It's easy to make. The key is the marinade.
When the legs get all crunchy from grilling, they are a real treat.

I've said to MIZ, a while ago. We need to have some type of tradeshow/gathering or something. People can show each other workouts, cooking demonstrations, etc etc. Be cool right?

That would be pretty cool

What's wrong with green beans?

Hi Sarah,

I'm not totally sure on this one so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. But I believe green bean is not part of the paleo gang as it is a legume. Works ok for me however. Fresh they sure are tasty.
They have a good amount of vitamin c too.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.

Marc,
I too am torn on the green bean. Beans generally are not regarded as paleo because they need to be somewhat processed to eat and are still fairly ard to digest. My thing about greenbeans though is that... you CAN eat them raw fresh off the plant. So technically they don't need proceesed and I think grok would have eaten them. What are your thoughts?

I am in too:-)
I too have been busy and barely had any time to post or even web browse. My daughter and granddaughter (7months) are in from Israel and I am being the proud grandmom (savta!!). Will catch up eventually.

Anyway today I was up REAL early from the baby and decided to bake some banana bread and pumpkin muffins. My sweet tooth has been out of hand lately, seasonal perhaps?

Got your message re the starfruits. No worries at all!!

SOG,
Yup ;-) I agree with you.
Every now and then when they are fresh and local I'll buy some.
It's definitely one of those things that make you go hmmmm?

MIZ,
I'll google it. Vegas....that would be great also. Lots of good deals to be had there. Biz there is way down.

Sarena;
Enjot savta time!!! It's what it's all about. It's nice to have your family with you this time of year.
Happy Chanuka.

Man, you really put away some food! The shrimp looks great. And the sausages... are they from Whole Foods (I know the have a great chicken with feta and spinach)? Now I'm really hungry for a hit of protein. Had Bob Evans for lunch and overcarbed it.

On IF, one thing I noticed is that I seem to do fine by not eating breakfast and doing a really late lunch. I won't even be hungry until 2 or 3 pm. The other day I ate steak and eggs in the morning around 730, not because I was hungry, but because I was going to go shopping and I didn't want to keel over from the crowds and traffic or get into a crazy sugar low. But then I noticed I was HUNGRY around 1. Has anyone else noticed this type of effect? I used to be afraid to not eat in the morning, but I found out that I feel a lot better and have more energy from doing a short IF. Sometimes I will have a bunch of walnuts around 10:30 and they seem to keep me going for hours and hours.

I didn't finish all that food ;-)
It was a lot, but nothing like having yummy left overs.
Yes, those sausages are from Whole Foods. I LOVE them!! These days whole foods gets my business only for chicken sausages and grass fed meat. I don't like the local store here.

My morning meals depend on work outs. If I don't workout, I might have a smaller protein breakfast around 8- 8:30. On a workout morning I eat my first meal later...sometimes much later. I'm just not hungry after workouts....but like you...if I don't work out and then have break fast early...I'm usually hungry by 12:30.
Thanks for leaving the comment. I enjoy getting them. Hsppy Holidays to you!!
