Video and Crock Pot Beef Shank

Here is a little video for your enjoyment.
The sound of the engine is somewhat loud, I will keep that in mind for next time.

Try this for simple and delicious.

Feel Good Eating Beef Shank Crock Pot Recipe

In the crock pot mix about 3-4 cut up garlic cloves and a sliced small onion. Add to this about 1/2 cup of beef broth. Mix in 2 tbspoons of dijon mustard. Mix together.
Next in a skillet with butter, sear and brown your beef shank. Put it in your crock pot and let it do it's thing for 6 hours or so. The marrow will drain into the broth and make for one outrages sauce/soup.
Let me know how it comes out.

I tend to eat meals like this on their own. Just meat, fat and soup. Filling and so satisfying. Glass of Pinot Noir or Malbec does add to the tasty factor.

Are you trying to make us all jealous or what? :)

Malbec or pinot noir, that's a difficult choice...

That's another recipe I'll be trying when the cold NH winter sets in and the slow cooker comes out.

BTW, when's the 5k and how's that going?

Yummy,
More to come ;-)
Malbec better for the budget....the decently priced Pinot's stink.

LivingPrimal,
Great to hear from you!
How's you primal/paleo coming along? Would love to own one of those houses!!!

Andy,
It really comes out so good. Try that chicken recipe in the crockpot too, that one is truly unbelievable.
Running update....check todays post!! The 5k is 10/8

For the past 3-4 months, I've frequently fallen back on D'autrefois 2007 Pinot Noir. It's 9 bucks at Total Wine, and it is really an excellent bargain, comparable to many of the Malbecs I frequently enjoy, and even plenty of $20+ pinots. On the expensive side, I love Irony, which is a russian river valley pinot that you should try if given the opportunity.

Give the D'autrefois a shot and tell me if it's not worth it, or if I simply have an unrefined pallet.

I have not heard of Russian River Valley.
Will look into it.
