Because of all the crazy crazy travel deals to be had at the moment and my proximity to Miami, FL, I took advantage of a cruise going to the Bahamas for 3 days.
I won't go on a rant yet)......but.........Want to see people shovel in, insane amounts of food? Go on a cruise ;-) Maybe a topic for another day.
Rusty at Fitnessblackbook mentioned me in this recent post. Thank you so much Rusty and I hope many readers looking for primal feel good eating ideas will find some useful recipes here. Like I've said before, Rusty's blog is full of continued quality info. Maybe that's why he gets 100,000 plus hit a month ;-)
Since we are talking link love; check out Free the Animal's post on sugar. This is awesome to forward to friends and family. And hopefully eye opening.
And back to food!
Last night's dinner was a quicky. Made some Tacos for the kids (you know Cinco de Mayo and all) they enjoy tacos a lot! I ate with them. The only non paleo item was a nice dollop of full fat sour cream. Man is that stuff tasty ;-) Just don't eat it often and you're fine. And since we're trying to lean out...you don't need to finish the whole container, just a tablespoon will do.
Some lettuce, half an avocado, meat with taco seasoning (half turkey, half grass fed ground beef), tomato, lettuce and sour cream. 2 small plates like this fill you up nicely.
And lastly, don't think I've ever posted anything on the books I'm reading, so thought I'd share the following with you.
Talk about primal/paleo, this guy lived on fish for 76 days!!! It's a classic but I had never read it. Great read for taking on a cruise right???????
I'm only half way through the next book, (White Tiger) but it's UNBELIEVABLE!
It's won a myriad of awards, but check it out if you have a chance.
That's all for now. Coming up this week 3 new recipes.
And.....SMILE a lot today.

Question to all,
Why does blogger freak out from time to time and creates these gaps in the post? I have not changed any settings?
Anyone have an idea why?
Thanks for your help.
Marc
That water looks amazing - such a remarkable shade. We went on a cruise in February but found it difficult to eat well - so much of what Royal Caribbean served was awful. We did our best though. Regarding blogger - I have NO idea why it does that. I used to use it but got frustrated with that kind of stuff and switched to wordpress.org.
Marc,
I went on a Carnival Cruise about 5 years ago to Mexico. It was a great way to see a bunch of different cities and figure out which one we liked best. Out of the bunch, we enjoyed Playa Del Carmen the best. We rented a beach villa the following year and had a blast.
I didn't eat anything close to primal on the cruise. They had a soft serve ice cream machine and I was a regular :)
We had tacos as well last night. Went over to a friend's house and they made fish tacos. Has a couple Corona Lights as well. Good stuff!
What I like most about your blog is that you talk about your day-to-day life and your personal experiences...people really enjoy that. I get much more out of this, then the typical impersonal tips. The best blogs have a visible personality behind them.
Keep up the great work!
Rusty
Jenny,
I know what you mean in regards to the food. I stuck to lots of protein, salads and veggies....and a large pineapple drink ;-)
Rusty,
Soft serve ice crea machine was on the pool deck and there was always a line. I didn't really tempt me...it was next to the bar...that tempted me ;-) Corona light much better then the ice cream.
I love fish tacos. There is a place on the beach here that makes them with fried grouper. Oh my g'd I love those things....it's a little indulgence every now and then. Thanks for the feed back, much appreciated!
